Ever notice that if you or someone you know gets a new car that you “suddenly” see so many of that same car? Why is that? Was there some huge sale on that model car? Interesting, isn’t it?
The answer is simple. You see that which you think about. You or your friend just got something new, so it is what you are thinking about. Notice that after a little while you don’t notice all those other cars as much? Were they all repossessed? Nope. You just aren’t thinking about them as much, so you don’t see them as often.
I think this is pretty cool. Once you understand how this is working, you don’t really have to think about what you are thinking about, just look around and see what you are seeing. If you are seeing love and kindness, you are thinking love and kindness. If you are seeing hatred and fear, you are thinking hatred and fear. It really is pretty simple, but we love to make it complicated. We have a tough time allowing things to just be simple. We want to figure it out. Define it. Organize it. We get hung up in doing all this stuff with it that we miss it.
We write it off as coincidence. It’s not. What you see is a true reflection of what you are thinking and it is like that for a reason. We are constantly seeing where we are so we can make any necessary adjustments to keep us on the path toward where we want to go. Of course if you don’t know where you want to go, then it is just a bunch of annoying shit seemingly appearing to piss you off. There is a simple answer to that…figure out where you want to go. You see the same car because you made a decision about where you are headed. Before making that decision, you saw all types of cars.
You don’t have to have it all figured out and you really shouldn’t be attached to the outcome (read more about that here), but you should have a pretty good idea of the general direction. Then, be aware of what you are seeing. If what you see is in alignment with where you want to go, keep going. If not, make adjustments and then keep going. Become an expert at observing what is around you and you will begin to master your thoughts and your life.
The main thing I head for is the answer to my question, “Can everything be healed through love?” By this I mean without fear, manipulation, deprivation and humiliation, but rather through understanding, empathy, compassion, respect and patience. When I see things like this picture, I know that my thoughts and life are in alignment and I am on the right path.
It really is that simple.
